Debut Album out February 23rd via Trouble In Mind.
New York based newcomers, Olden Yolk, comprising of Quilt’s Shane Butler and multi-instrumentalist Caity Shaffer, are due to release their self-titled debut album on February 23rd via Trouble In Mind. The group make swirly, psych-pop music, if you could imagine Nico singing The Wicker Man soundtrack, this is close. After recently sharing first single 'Takes One To Know One' the band have now shared 'Vital Sign' with an accompanying video, directed by Butler and Shaffer, they have this to say of the new track:
“‘Vital Sign represents two sides of a coin,” explain Butler and Shaffer. “It references feelings of isolation and paranoia felt during periods of illness and confinement, as well as the emergence from such an experience, in recognition of the trials that bind us ("it could have been you too"). The song begins with a reflective moment which quickly reaches a breaking point, accentuated by screeching strings and bellowing background vocals.”
The group have announced two live dates, in both Bristol and London, see the details for this and watch the dystopian inspired video below.
