Various Acts // Various Venues // £5ADV // 14th October

If you are on the hunt for something to do over the weekend, you’re in luck. Oxjam, a nationwide music festival organised to raise funds of the charity Oxfam, is making its way to Huddersfield’s town centre. For the second year in a row, volunteers have come together to celebrate the local music scene and raise money with the aim of ending poverty. On Saturday the 14th of October, over 50 acts will take to the stage at The Parish, Tokyo, Warehouse, Rhubarb, Mavericks, and Kings Bar from 2pm until 11pm. Early bird tickets are currently available for £5 via www.wegottickets.com/event/417098. The event is promised to be “bigger and better," with the addition of new venues and a whole host of amazing bands.

ExP (Eggs Pea) // Vinyl Tap Records // FREE // 14th October

ExP (Eggs Pea) will be playing a set alongside DJ Leach (AKA Versatile) in Vinyl Tap Records from 2pm. The performance is free, and described as “great local rap music well worth getting down to.” According to a post by the shop made earlier today, it is also worth “grabbing a copy of his [ExP’s] album 'RemarkableUnremarkable' while you're there."

Uncovered // Om Is Where The Heart Is // FREE // 15th October

Om Is Where The Heart Is presents Acoustic Sunday Sessions; Uncovered play this Sunday performing “heartfelt acoustic covers featuring David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Florence and the Machine, Rag n Bone Man, Massive Attack and more.”

RISCAS // The Parish // £3 // 18th October

El Bando // The Parish // £3ADV // 19th October

And the music does not stop there; five days after Oxjam has introduced Huddersfield’s to its local talent, The Parish presents Freshly Squeezed: For The Many. The venue is providing “a student night of live music” in collaboration with Huddersfield’s Labour Party. El Bando, Leo Tribe, and LaffMad create the line-up alongside a DJ set from LJW. The night is in aid of Hands Off HRI, a local organisation aiming to preserve the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Darius Syrossian // Toyko // £8 // 20th October

“This is going to be one of the best nights Huddersfield has seen in a long time....” Tokyo hosts the ultimate DJ event, and believe that Darius Syrossian "will take Huddersfield events to new levels.” Alongside the live event, the nightclub is also "offering one lucky DJ the chance to warm up for him on the night."
