Back on US Soil to perform music from latest Album

It has been announced that M.I.A will play two festivals in the U.S so far this year. These will be the first M.I.A shows in the U.S since her visa ban in 2014. When AIM was released last May, she had said she would not be able to tour her record in U.S. This was due to her being banned from re-entering the country. M.I.A has had a controversial relationship in the past within the U.S. In 2012 her performance at the NBA super bowl, caused controversy. Sharing a stage with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, M.I.A stuck her middle finger up, NBC was fined and she was liable to pay. Her camp issued an apology and blamed the incident on performance adrenaline. In October M.I.A announced that her visa had finally been approved and by January she was back on Californian soil. With sets booked for Riot Fest and Meadow Music and Arts Festival, it will mark a return to her being able to work in the U.S. It's Meadow music and arts festival second event this year with a pretty sweet line-up including Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blood Orange, Sky Ferreira, Sleigh Bells, Broken Social Scene and Jay-Z. It’s all happening in NYC, Queens from September 15th to 17th. Tickets are on sale May 10th Source
