Napalm Death to release rarities compilation titled “Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs”
Birmingham extreme metal band Napalm Death is releasing a two-disc compilation which will also be available on vinyl and digital download. Titled 'Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs'
, it is due for release next year in March through the bands label Century Media records.
The 90-minute collection will feature 31 tracks, all of which are outtakes from all the bands albums since 2004. The cover art for the album has already been leaked which was designed by Frode Slythe.
The release was confirmed by bassist Shane Embury who posted an update during the band's recent tour of Spain: “Today we start our 13-date tour of the North Peninsula! It’s been a busy, busy year as ever, but great to wind it all up here with some of our craziest and most passionate fans.
It’s very inspiring for me and something I was very conscious of as we compiled the tracks for the upcoming compilation album of rarities and covers which encompass 'Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs'. I hope that everyone will enjoy what we have put together! There are some hidden gems, for sure, on this double album release and it was a lot of fun going through the songs.
The New Year will be bringing more shows and some more new songs in the studio towards album sixteen, so its system's go! As some of my best buddies say: grindcore is for life kids… not just for Christmas!”
The band are also rumoured to be making plans to record a new studio album due for release late next year, which vocalist Barney Greenway has stated that guitarist Mitch Harris will play on.
Harris has been on hiatus from the band since late 2014 due to personal problems. Jon Cooke from Corrupt Moral Altar has been filling in for him live since.
The bands last album “Apex Predator-Easy Meat” was released in January 2015 through Century Media.
