If you are on the hunt for something to do over the weekend, you’re in luck. Oxjam, a nationwide music festival organised to raise funds of the charity Oxfam, is making its way to Huddersfield’s town centre. For the second year in a row, volunteers have come together to celebrate the local music scene and raise money with the aim of ending poverty. On Saturday the 14th
of October, over 50 acts will take to the stage at The Parish, Tokyo, Warehouse, Rhubarb, Mavericks, and Kings Bar from 2pm until 11pm. Early bird tickets are currently available for £5 via www.wegottickets.com/event/417098
. The event is promised to be “bigger and better," with the addition of new venues and a whole host of amazing bands.

And the music does not stop there; five days after Oxjam has introduced Huddersfield’s to its local talent, The Parish presents Freshly Squeezed: For The Many. The venue is providing “a student night of live music” in collaboration with Huddersfield’s Labour Party. El Bando, Leo Tribe, and LaffMad create the line-up alongside a DJ set from LJW. The night is in aid of Hands Off HRI, a local organisation aiming to preserve the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
