What do you get when you combine righteous music, all out dancing and just a ‘lil drinkin’? Brixton Got Soul comin’ at ya! Brixton Got Soul returns for another night of classic tunes that'll have you singing & shakin' till the small hours.
This week we welcome a powerful leader in the Spanish soul scene as The Excitements take to the stage for the early set. These guys are the real deal: a Rhythm & Blues machine, they also take care of the soul end of things, with their energetic shows offering a mix of furious pace and spine-chilling slow moments alike. Despite hailing from Barcelona, their show-stopping fierceness and class reflects such classics as Wilson Pickett, Etta James, Ike & Tina Turner, or any act to come out of Memphis, Detroit or New Orleans during the late fifties and sixties. Lucky us to have them at The Blues Kitchen!
Atlantic Soul Orchestra, our incredible resident band, play the late set from 1 AM. Witness some of the country's finest musicians bring the very best of dance music originals and glorious soulful sounds. From Martha Reeves to Amy Winehouse, these are tunes so good there's no time to give those feet a rest.
Downstairs you'll find James Riley Trio, one of London's most exciting upcoming talents, providing a soundtrack of thumpin' blues and country.
Our resident DJ plays in between and after the bands, with only the finest vintage dance sounds to choose from, 'til the lights come up at 2 AM.
