New York power rockers Pains of Being Pure at Heart release social commentary video for latest single "So True"
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have released a video for their latest single “So True”. The New York shoegazers released their latest album The Echo of Pleasure on September 1st after slow dripping singles over the summer. The video directed by Nicola Saint-Marc, follows two young Norweigan female protagonists as they strive to maintain identity against the backdrop of polite society. The video uses themes around the general struggle between staying true at heart and balancing socially constructed roles which we place upon ourselves and also placed on us by the expectations of those around us. Bergman explains via latest press release:“[…] it’s also ultimately from the perspective of how I am older, married with a daughter and incapable of chaining myself to an oil rig or passing out in the park because I have things I need to do and people to care for. I could never be ‘so true’ as all that.”Watch below.
