Track of the Day: J Fernandez - 'Unwind'

J Fernandez announces new LP Occasional Din and shares first single 'Unwind'.

Chicago resident, J Fernandez is due to drop a new album entitled Occasional Din on the Joyful Noise label, November 8th. Yesterday he shared the first single from the upcoming record, 'Unwind' - which certainly does just that. As it unfolds and plays out from something quite simple, it takes the listener on a few twists and turns - expect time signature changes and song structure twists. Fernandez builds his songs from sessions with an organ and a Casio drum machine, and then through endless tweaks and revisions, the songs become complex arrangements. The creation process is something that can be heard in the finished product rather than being polished away and it ends up giving Fernandez a unique sound. Comparisons to Stereolab and Broadcast have been thrown around, but J Fernandez clearly has his own thing going on - we're excited for the LP. Check out, 'Unwind' below.
