New Jersey indie darlings Real Estate released fifth studio album The Main Thing earlier this year via Domino Records to positive reviews across the board. With the world on standstill however, the accompanying tour was put on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

In lieu of seeing them in the flesh, the five-piece announced an augmented reality 'Quarantour' - a pre-recorded performance available on iOS and Android via the app's webpage, Real Estate can be seen playing on a three-dimensional stage upon any surface of the user's choosing.

The announcement on the band's Facebook page states:  "We’re still really sad that we can’t go on tour but thanks to modern technology you can watch your own personal “Augmented Reality” Real Estate Show anywhere .... inside your home."

A collaboration with visual arts creatives CULLEN, it's said to be "the world's first live, AR concert experience". With the countless venues closed, tours on hold, and the world in lockdown, it seems as though AR shows such as this is a sign of things to come, until reality resumes at least.
