Self-titled debut LP is due out in May via Sacred Bones.
Sanae Yamada of Moon Duo has a new project, Vive La Void - today she has shared a new single “Death Money” with an accompanying video. It's the second single released from her forthcoming self-titled debut album, out 4th May via Sacred Bones. Vive La Void is set for her debut London live show on June 19th at The Lexington.
Sanae wrote her upcoming record over a 2 year period in her downtime between touring and recording with her main band, Moon Duo. After a decade of substantial touring and recording schedule, a deeply instilled semi-permanence has settled into Sanae's life of temporary home bases and living on a tour bus - an experience which has thematically found its way onto the album. Sanae had this to say in a press release:
“I feel like the movement of life in the sphere of consciousness is this process of trace-leaving,” Yamada explains. “Wherever we go, whomever we interact with, whatever we touch, we leave and absorb these invisible traces, this residue of memory that lingers. I wanted the sonic textures of this record to explore that state of being there and not there, of something being with you but not tangible.”
