If you are on the hunt for something to do over the weekend, you’re in luck. Oxjam, a nationwide music festival organised to raise funds of the charity Oxfam, is making its way to Huddersfield’s town centre. For the second year in a row, volunteers have come together to celebrate the local music scene and raise money with the aim of ending poverty. On Saturday the 14
th of October, over 50 acts will take to the stage at The Parish, Tokyo, Warehouse, Rhubarb, Mavericks, and Kings Bar from 2pm until 11pm. Early bird tickets are currently available for £5 via
www.wegottickets.com/event/417098. The event is promised to be “bigger and better," with the addition of new venues and a whole host of amazing bands.
ExP (Eggs Pea) // Vinyl Tap Records // FREE // 14th October
ExP (Eggs Pea) will be playing a set alongside DJ Leach (AKA Versatile) in Vinyl Tap Records from 2pm. The performance is free, and described as “great local rap music well worth getting down to.” According to a post by the shop made earlier today, it is also worth “grabbing a copy of his [ExP’s] album 'RemarkableUnremarkable' while you're there."

Om Is Where The Heart Is presents Acoustic Sunday Sessions; Uncovered play this Sunday performing “heartfelt acoustic covers featuring David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Florence and the Machine, Rag n Bone Man, Massive Attack and more.”

“Put on your dancing shoes because Huddersfield's favourite indie/alt night, Hang The DJ, is coming to The Parish!” Hang The DJ present: RISCAS with support from Alex Tracey, Mahatma Raindrop, and Resist in Retrospect.
El Bando // The Parish // £3ADV // 19th October
And the music does not stop there; five days after Oxjam has introduced Huddersfield’s to its local talent, The Parish presents Freshly Squeezed: For The Many. The venue is providing “a student night of live music” in collaboration with Huddersfield’s Labour Party. El Bando, Leo Tribe, and LaffMad create the line-up alongside a DJ set from LJW. The night is in aid of Hands Off HRI, a local organisation aiming to preserve the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
