Hannah Georgas has previous with The National, joining the introspective indie darlings on their 2019 US tour with guitarist Aaron Dessner later producing her outstanding recent album All That Emotion. Today, Georgas has shared a re-recording of determined track 'Pray It Away' as a duet with frontman Matt Berninger

Inspired by the polemic culture that's engulfed the Western world in recent years, Georgas explained: "A close friend of mine inspired the lyrics. She told me over dinner one night that a family member didn’t want to attend her wedding because she was marrying a woman. It was upsetting to see my friend go through what she was dealing with at a time where she should have been celebrating. Whether it's ideology, gender norms, homophobia, racism, sexism, or your dreams and ambitions in life…I hope this song brings comfort to those who have felt they have been dismissed for who they truly are."

Berninger's distinctive baritone delivery works beautifully in tandem with Georgas calming yet fraught vocal on a composition that has collaboration written in it's DNA, given that Dessner also co-wrote the track during the sessions for All That Emotion. Evidently a fan of Georgas' output to date, Berninger added "I begged Hannah to let me sing it with her. Turns out sometimes prayers are answered."
