Green Man Festival 2017 marks the 10th Anniversary of Green Man Rising. The annual competition hosts the best unsigned and upcoming acts in the UK.  Every year a panel of muso's, tastemakers, blogger's and industry reps get together and judge from a selection of entrees to curate a roster of the best current unsigned acts in the UK. This year the finalists will be judged by experts from Clash Magazine, BBC 6 Music, Domino Recording Company, Noisey, The Guardian, 4AD, CAA - Creative Artists Agency, London Evening Standard and Green Man Festival. Here are our picks from the amazingly eclectic roster below. 

// Madonnatron //

Madonnatron released their debut LP via Trashmouth on June 30th. The London based quartet have also racked up radio air play and live sessions for Mark Riley of 6 Music. They describe their sound as ‘Witch Prog’ be sure catch this exciting new band on the Green Man Rising stage, Sunday 20th August.

// Stevie Parker //

Stevie Parker is a young Bristol based artist, her debut EP which was released at the end of 2016 found acclaim with NME and the Guardian et al. Described as the new electronic via folk artist to watch, her LP The Cure which was released in May this year and was produced by Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Sia) it also features Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa on drums. Don's miss Stevie's performance on the Greenman Rising stage on Friday, 18th of August.

London based Sports Team have built up a reputation around London for their riotous and unpredictable live shows. Sports Teams' music making is described as a rather exciting "Pavement-like slackerism" blended with "an eye for euphoria to create something that’s as hypnotic as it is forceful". Catch them on the 18th of August on Green Man rising stage.
