She’s back and she’s brought her genius with her in the form of a Sci-Fi and horror themed album, 'Caged Tropical'

Frankie Rose is an American musician and song writer, yes, the very Frankie Rose of Indie Rock band Vivian Girls and post-punk band Crystal Stilts, to name a few. If you didn’t know, now you know. Frankie has been hiding out with Beverly, a Brooklyn-based band, since the release of her 2013 album, ‘Herein Wild’. Now she’s back and teasing us with a single from her solo LP, ‘Trouble’, ahead of its release on the 11th August. Trouble’ is a creative, sci-fi inspired single bringing us back to the 80’s for those sensational synths and vivacious beats. Rose commented in a press release: “I love old sci-fi. They Live is one of my favourite movies ever, same with Susperia”…“80’s sci-fi movies with a John Carpenter soundtrack, with silly synths- that makes it into my file, to the point that I’ll write lyrics incorporating that kind of stuff. It’s in there” The drums creating an uplifting beat, alongside synths; is the work of a mastermind, it’s extremely intriguing and individual. “It’s all essentially based on what happened to me in Los Angeles and then a return to Brooklyn.” She adds “Misery turned into something good. The whole record to me is a redemption record and it is the most positive one I’ve made.” The single is about having to deal with problems, being unable to outrun them and yourself. The video is released with a hotline which encourages listeners to call and leave details of their paranormal and extra-terrestrial encounters. The stories will then be reviewed - with the chance of them being on a podcast, Weird Night with Juan and Frankie whom will analyse connections between “music and the paranormal”. Cage Tropical is out August 11 via Slumberland. Rose will be touring until 28th October, don’t miss out!
