Watch: Courtney Barnett Unveils New Song 'Need a Little Time'

A jangly new preview from upcoming album Tell Me How You Really Feel

Courtney Barnett has shared her new single and accompanying video for 'Need A Little Time'. The Australian songwriter began recording her upcoming album Tell Me How You Really Feel late 2017 and is due to release the new LP on May 18th this year. This is the second track we've heard from the forthcoming EP, 'Nameless, Faceless,' a ballsy punk track was the first single to drop. The less urgent, 'Need A Little Time' harnesses Barnett's more poetic side with its thoughtful lyrical prowess. A collaborator of Courtney's, Danny Cohen, directed the sci-fi themed video and had this to say:

Need A Little Time' has this soaring, floating feeling to it. I decided to play on the meaning of the song, Courtney needs some time away from herself (and you). I didn’t want to show Courtney leaving her friends/family/fans etc, it needed to be more metaphorical. Courtney floats through space and time, ends up in some isolated part of the universe. She finally has found some time alone, just Courtney and her guitar, singing in space without a care in the world.
