It was inevitable. The final nail in the coffin of what was 'festival season 2020'. Coachella (Valley Music and Arts Festival) has been officially cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Even when the initial April date was rescheduled to October of this year, just as Coronavirus was tightening its grip on the world, it looked incredibly unlikely then that the music festival would go ahead. And unfortunately that is now the case.

With Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and a returning Rage Against The Machine secured to headline this year's edition, new dates have not yet been revealed, nor has the lineup been announced to carry on to 2021.

Whilst no statement has been made by Coachella's organisers, local health authorities have stopped the festival going ahead since confirmed Coronavirus cases in the US have exceeded 2 million. Cancelled for the first time in its 20-year history, Coachella's future has been impacted as much by Covid-19 as the wider music industry.
