Confirmed as a UK exclusive performance, Björk will headline this year's Bluedot Festival.
The influential Icelandic artist will close the festival with a uniquely commissioned performance alongside Manchester's Halle Orchestra, complete with bespoke projections on the observatory's Lovell Telescope.
Winner of the UK Festival Awards' Best Medium Festival, the synergy of science and live music which is held at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire each year will also welcome headline performances from Groove Armada and Metronomy.
British astronaut Tim Peake has also been confirmed as the festival's scientific headliner, with the likes of Spiritualized, Tangerine Dream, Roisin Murphy, Daniel Avery, EOB (Radiohead's Ed O'Brien), Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Squarepusher, BC Camplight, Fatoumata Diawara, Plastic Mermaids, Porridge Radio, Dry Cleaning, and Ride making up the wealth of other musicians on the bill.
As per usual there's the programme of science, comedy, and cultural exploration to be fully confirmed later this year, seeing Adam Buxton, Phil Jupitus, and stage show delving into the messianic status of the late David Bowie in Is David Bowie A God? already revealed.
Bluedot Festival 2020 takes place on 23-26th July at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire, UK. For the full lineup, check here.
