black midi drop new singles 'John L / Despair' + announce new album titled Cavalcade

The announcement of new music from London's hyped art-punks coincides with news of a huge headline show at Alexandra Palace Theatre in November.

black midi have revealed news of their new album and dropped new tracks to whet the appetite in the run up: Cavalcade is set for release on 28th May via Rough Trade Records, and is their first full-length album since 2019's Mercury Prize-nominated Schlagenheim.

The A-side 'John L' and accompanying B-side 'Despair' sees the avant-garde punks in a typically frantic vein of form, exemplifying the disjointed riffs and disconnected vocals that's made the four-piece so revered up to now. The new album was produced by John "Spud" Murphy and the band themselves except the 'John L' which was produced by Marta Salogni.

News of their highly-anticipated follow-up album coincides with the announcement of the band's biggest show to date, with a headline appearance at Alexandra Palace Theatre scheduled for 1st November later this year.
